Eddie Hearn, promoter of former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, commented on his client's victory in a fight against Jake Paul.
"Good fight. Listen, respect to Jake Paul. He was a tough guy in the ring. Naturally, he moved a lot, which complicated the task for Joshua. AJ hadn't been in the ring for a long time, he was a bit rusty. It took him time to warm up, but I am impressed with Jake. In the end, he took punches that would have knocked out many, especially at the end of the fight.
Paul did what he needed to do to survive. He succeeded. It's very difficult to not be in the ring for 14 months and be razor-sharp with a guy who moves like that. Yes, maybe the fight lasted 2-3 rounds longer than expected, but I give credit to Jake Paul. He was much tougher than I thought. He took many more punches than I expected," said Hearn in an interview with the YouTube channel Fight Hub TV.
Let's recall that on December 19th, Joshua defeated Paul with a knockout in the sixth round in the main event of the boxing night in Miami.
