Tomorrow Kubrat Pulev (32-3, 14 KO) will defend his WBA heavyweight world title, with challenger being former unified cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev (32-2, 25 KO). Both boxers have been in Dubai for several days, with their fight scheduled for Friday evening.

“Becoming a world champion is the fulfillment of my dream, and also my father's dream. This has been my goal since I started boxing. I've come a long way, having more than three hundred Olympic boxing bouts, including many professional ones, and finally I managed to fulfill my childhood dream. I don't want to lose it all, so I will win,” said the 44-year-old Pulev.

“You can plan everything, but in heavyweight, one punch can change everything. Here you have to be ready for anything and be 100 percent focused throughout the fight. Pulev is a very experienced boxer, and it is he who will enter the ring as the champion,” said Gassiev.

“Everyone talks about his age, but for me, it's just a number, because he has always been in good shape. I have no doubt that he will be ready for twelve hard rounds, and it will be a tough fight. But I am ready for it, because I had a very hard training camp,” added Gassiev.
