Mauricio Suleiman, president of the WBC, commented on his organization's decision to strip Terence Crawford of the championship title.

ā€œHe didn't follow the rules, then moved up to super middleweight and arranged the fight of the century. Terence beat Canelo and earned $50 million or so. The WBC was not going to take 3% of that amount. We clearly determined that Terence had to allocate 0.6% of his fee. Of this, $225,000 would have gone to the Jose Suleiman fund, which is intended to help former boxers in need of assistance.

And it is just unfortunate. He didn’t even say ā€˜thank you’ or ā€˜sorry,’ choosing a different path. No response. I wish him all the best,ā€ said Suleiman in an interview with BoxingScene.
