On December 20, European super middleweight champion Callum Simpson (18-0, 13 KOs) will face Troy Williamson (21-4-1, 15 KOs) at the Boxxer event in Leeds, broadcast on the BBC. It is also likely that the British and Commonwealth titles held by Simpson will be at stake.
The 29-year-old Simpson won the European Boxing Union belt in June, defeating Ivan Zucco by technical knockout. This year, the Briton has already had three professional fights.
In September, Williamson defeated Mark Dickinson to become the British super middleweight champion. This performance marked Williamson's return to the ring after his loss to Jahyae Tucker.
Simpson currently also holds the titles of British, Commonwealth, and European champion.
Simpson's promotional company, Boxxer, recently signed a broadcasting contract, and the Barnsley native will be one of the first fighters to headline a program under the new agreement.
