Canelo Alvarez is getting ready to step into the ring with Terence Crawford this Saturday in Las Vegas. The fight, put together by Turki Alalshikh and Dana White, has got everyone talking.
At the press conference in Vegas, Canelo faced questions about a possible fight with David Benavidez down the line. He didn't say no, but he made it clear his mind's on one thing right now.
"I never say no to anything, but we'll see later. Right now I'm 100% focused on this fight," Canelo told reporters.
If Canelo wins against Crawford, who's never lost a fight, he's got a couple more bouts lined up with Alalshikh. That could mean we won't see him face Benavidez until 2026.
Meanwhile, Benavidez, known as the "Mexican Monster," isn't sitting around. He's set to defend his WBC light heavyweight title against Anthony Yarde on November 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Benavidez got fed up waiting for a shot at Canelo in the super middleweight division. He moved up in weight and grabbed the world championship after Dmitry Bivol turned him down. The WBC then took the title from Bivol and handed it to Benavidez.
For now, all eyes are on Saturday's big fight. Canelo's the favorite, but in boxing, you never know what might happen.
