Ryan Garcia Reveals His Ultimate Target: "He Won't See It Coming"

Garcia's last fight didn't go as planned. On May 2, he lost to Rolando 'Rolly' Romero in Times Square, New York City. The bout was for the WBA 'regular' world welterweight title. Despite the disappointing outcome, Garcia isn't letting it hold him back.

He's already looking ahead to big fights. In a chat with The Ring Magazine, Garcia made it clear he's ready for Lopez:

"If he wants to run it, he can get it. I've always liked that fight for myself. Our styles go well together. I seriously believe I would knock him out with my punch selection and output. With the way I throw punches, I would crack him. I'm definitely his kryptonite. I've been wanting that fight for a long time. I'm open to any challenge."

Garcia's confidence comes despite his recent loss. It was only the second defeat of his career. He's now getting ready to jump back in the ring and start training again.

Before his last fight, Garcia had a problem with his right hand. He got surgery to fix it. The good news is that it went well and won't keep him out of action longer than needed.

While Garcia was losing to Romero, Lopez was winning. The 28-year-old WBO super-lightweight champion, known as 'The Takeover', beat Arnold Barboza Jr. It was an impressive win against his mandatory challenger.

Lopez has other options too. He's been talking about a possible fight with WBC world lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on social media.

There's a bit of a weight difference to sort out if Garcia and Lopez do meet. Garcia's last fight was at welterweight, while Lopez holds a title at super-lightweight. But in boxing, where there's a will, there's often a way.

For now, Garcia is focused on getting back to his best. He's ready to prove that his recent loss was just a bump in the road. And he's made it clear - he thinks he's got what it takes to beat Lopez.
