Manny Pacquiao's team wants to set up a fight with Gervonta Davis. The Filipino boxing legend is looking for big names as he continues his comeback tour.
Pacquiao just fought Mario Barrios for the WBC Welterweight World Title. The fight ended in a majority draw, but many people thought Pacquiao did enough to win.
Sean Gibbons, Pacquiao's advisor, says they're interested in fighting Rolando Romero or Gervonta Davis next. They're aiming for high-profile opponents to keep Pacquiao's comeback rolling.
Tim Bradley, a Hall of Fame boxer turned analyst, thinks Pacquiao could actually beat Davis. He told Fight Hub TV:
"I'm telling you. And if he gets in that ring and he ain't all the way focused, bro, he gonna get beat by Manny Pacquiao."
Bradley believes Davis might not be fully focused on boxing right now. He says Davis wants to change, has things on his mind, and might be sick of boxing.
Davis, known as "Tank," recently defended his WBA lightweight belt against Lamont Roach Jr. The fight was controversial. He's also facing some trouble outside the ring. Local 10 News reported that Davis got arrested on a domestic violence charge.
If the fight happens, Davis will have to move up in weight. He usually fights at lightweight, while Pacquiao's last fight was at welterweight. It would be the heaviest Davis has ever fought.
A lot of people think Pacquiao should stay away from Davis because of his youth and power. But at 46 years old, Pacquiao seems ready to take on all comers as he tries to prove he's still got it.
