Errol Spence's Comeback Opponent Revealed: Former Champ Says "I'm Ready For Him"

Sebastian Fundora, the current WBC super-welterweight champion, wants to give Spence a shot at his belt. Fundora recently defended his title with a win over Tim Tszyu, forcing a 7th round retirement.

Spence's last fight was in July 2023 against Terence Crawford. Crawford dominated the match, knocking Spence down multiple times before the referee stopped it in the 9th round. It was Spence's first loss as a pro.

Before that defeat, Spence was on top of the boxing world. He beat big names like Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia, and Kell Brook. Many saw him as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.

The Crawford fight was supposed to be close. Bookies even had Spence as a slight favorite. But Crawford took control from the start and never let up.

Since then, Spence has been out of action. He's dealing with an ongoing eye injury that's kept him away from the ring for two years.

Now, Fundora wants to bring him back. At a press conference after his recent win, Fundora said:

"I hope so. I would still like to fight those guys… Spence, I don't know where he's at but I'm sure he's going to come back good and strong, and when he does I'm ready for him."

The fight would be at super-welterweight, a step up in weight for Spence. There's been talk about these two possibly fighting before, but nothing's certain yet. We'll have to wait and see if Spence takes up Fundora's offer for his comeback fight.
