Agit Kabayel (26-0, 18 KO) joins the race to become the final opponent of Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KO). The representative of Germany already holds the WBC belt in the heavyweight division, but so far only temporarily. The Ukrainian remains the full champion of all four major organizations. First in line is the WBO title challenger Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KO), but this does not deter the former two-time European champion in his desire to fight Usyk next year.
Kabayel and his promoter Frank Warren want to organize their next fight in the German’s homeland this fall. After that, Agit plans to fight Usyk.
“This is the best fight at the moment, I am the most interesting opponent for him. Usyk is an excellent boxer. I do not like trash talk, but I really think that our fight would be the most interesting option for the fans. We are both undefeated and have a combined record of 50-0. So why not? I hope that Turki Al Sheikh will organize our fight. I will definitely be ready for him,” said Kabayel.
“Agit is a much stronger boxer than Dubois, and he will create serious problems for Usyk. You will be surprised how this fight ends if it takes place,” added Spencer Brown, Kabayel’s manager.
Let us remind you that in his last three fights, Kabayel won decisively against Arslanbek Makhmudov, Frank Sanchez, and Zhang Zhilei.
