Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk might fight for a third time in 2026. The Ukrainian boxer has already beaten Fury twice, leading to Fury's retirement from the sport.
Fury recently mentioned he's interested in another go at Usyk. He wants the fight to happen at Wembley Stadium in 2026. This comes after Usyk solidified his spot as the two-time undisputed heavyweight champion by stopping Daniel Dubois in their recent clash.
After beating Dubois, Usyk hinted that Fury could be his final opponent before hanging up his gloves. But not everyone thinks this trilogy should happen.
Boxing expert Teddy Atlas shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel before Usyk's win over Dubois. He's not keen on seeing Fury and Usyk go at it again.
"I don't wanna see it, I'll tell you why. I've seen enough. I've seen Usyk beat Fury. I loved them both and they have done nothing but good for boxing and their family and themselves. They're tremendous, they're warriors, everything. I don't wanna see it no more. Usyk won twice. The first one could have been a knockout if he didn't hold himself back when Fury went down. He could have put that final blow in that would have hurt him. Been there, done that, seen that movie, don't make another one."
Atlas thinks both fighters are nearing the end of their careers. He'd prefer to see Usyk retire after his win over Dubois. Many fans agree with Atlas, feeling it's time for both men to retire.
But Usyk's impressive showing against the young Dubois makes it hard to argue he should quit now. He stopped Dubois inside five rounds, repeating his victory from their first fight in August 2023.
As it stands, Fury remains retired with two losses to Usyk on his record. Usyk, on the other hand, continues to dominate the heavyweight division. Whether we'll see them face off one more time at Wembley in 2026 remains to be seen.
