Terence Crawford is getting ready to face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for the undisputed super middleweight world championship. The fight will happen on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Crawford, the current WBA Super Welterweight World Champion, will move up two weight classes for this fight. He wants to be the first boxer to beat Canelo at 168 pounds. Canelo has only lost twice in his career - to Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol. At super middleweight, he's beaten tough opponents like Billy Joe Saunders, Caleb Plant, and Jaime Munguia.
Rolando 'Rolly' Romero, who recently had a big win over Ryan Garcia, thinks Canelo will win by knockout. In an interview with FightHype.com, Romero said:
"He's 38 years old. Yeah, he saw something in Canelo. He's about to see the canvas."
Romero believes the weight difference will be a big problem for Crawford. He compares it to when Canelo fought Bivol and lost. Romero thinks Crawford will box well at first but eventually get knocked out.
The boxing world can't agree on who will win. Some people have changed their minds after Canelo didn't look great in his fight with William Scull.
Crawford fought in August 2024 against Israel Madrimov. He won on points and got the WBA Super Welterweight World Title. But this win ended Crawford's streak of eleven fights where he stopped his opponents. This might mean Crawford's power won't be as strong at super middleweight.
