Daniel Dubois gets another shot at Oleksandr Usyk this summer. The two heavyweights will meet again on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, with all the belts on the line.
Their first fight happened last August. Usyk won that one, stopping Dubois in the ninth round. But there was a big moment of controversy. Dubois dropped Usyk with a body shot, but the referee called it a low blow. That gave Usyk time to recover before he went on to win.
Since then, Dubois has been on a tear. He beat Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic. Then he shocked everyone by defeating Anthony Joshua to win the IBF heavyweight title. Now he's in the best form of his career.
Usyk still holds the WBC, WBA, and WBO heavyweight belts. He's coming off two big wins against Tyson Fury in 2024.
Former world champion Amir Khan thinks Dubois has a real shot this time. He told Box Nation:
"Definitely. Dubois has a good chance. When I saw his fight against Hrgovic, I said this guy's a beast. He's a good fighter. He's a hard fighter to beat. He'll learn from the mistakes he made in the first fight against Usyk and he'll give him a hard fight. Look, he has the tools to win that fight."
The winner of this fight might have to deal with Tyson Fury next. The Gypsy King has already said he wants a third fight with Usyk.
The rematch between Dubois and Usyk promises to be one of the biggest boxing events of the year. With all four major heavyweight titles up for grabs, the stakes couldn't be higher.
