Canelo Alvarez beat William Scull to become the undisputed super-middleweight champion again in May. The fight took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Alvarez won by unanimous decision.

People expected Canelo to dominate, but the fight didn't turn out that way. It was a slow-paced bout with not much action. According to CompuBox, the fighters threw only 445 punches combined. That's the lowest number ever recorded in a 12-round fight.

Scull wasn't impressed by Canelo's power. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, he said:

"I didn't feel any punches. We just kept executing our strategy, the plan for this fight. We didn't need to change anything because I didn't feel that he was hurting me at all."

Canelo's performance raised questions about his power at 168 pounds. He hasn't knocked anyone out in his last six world title fights, starting from September 2022.

Now, Canelo's getting ready for his next fight against Terence "Bud" Crawford. Crawford just won the WBA super-welterweight title in August 2024. He'll move up two weight classes to face Canelo at 168 pounds.

The fight was first set for Friday, September 12 in Las Vegas, with TKO as the promoter. But now there are changes to both the date and the promotional company.
