Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are set to face off again on July 19 at Wembley. The rematch will put the undisputed world heavyweight honours on the line.
Former boxing champion Ricky Hatton thinks Dubois is in great shape for the fight. Hatton shared his thoughts in a recent chat with Boxing News.
The first time these two met was back in August 2023. Usyk won that fight, stopping Dubois in the ninth round. But there was some drama. Dubois knocked Usyk down with a body shot, but the ref called it a low blow. This gave Usyk time to recover, which some felt was unfair.
Since then, both fighters have been busy. Dubois, known as "DDD", has been on a roll. He's knocked out some big names like Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua. He won the IBF belt and has defended it successfully.
Usyk hasn't been sitting around either. He's beaten Tyson Fury not once, but twice. These wins made him the undisputed heavyweight champ. Recently, though, he gave up the IBF belt.
"I think it's the best fight, they're the best two heavyweights in the world. Bit of controversy last time, which goes with the game in boxing, doesn't it, a bit of controversy. I think Daniel has a better chance than the first time, what with a win off Joshua."
Hatton thinks Dubois has a better shot this time around. He reckons the win over Joshua has given Dubois a big boost in confidence.
The winner of this fight might face Joseph Parker next. Parker used to hold a world title and is now the mandatory challenger for the WBO belt. Frank Warren has said Parker could be in line to fight for all four heavyweight belts against the Usyk-Dubois winner.
