A press conference was held to mark the beginning of the promotion for the fight between Jake Paul (11-1, 7 KO) and former world champion in the middleweight division Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KO). The event will be broadcast on the DAZN platform via pay-per-view.

The fight will take place on June 28 during a boxing evening in Anaheim and will occur in the light heavyweight category. The Mexican has fought his last three bouts in this weight. The American reported that he is currently also negotiating to organize an exhibition bout with Gervonta Davis. The fight could allegedly take place in November.

In his last appearance in the ring, Paul won by points against Mike Tyson, for whom it was his first professional fight in nearly 20 years. Chavez's last bout in the pro ranks took place in July of last year during an event organized by Paul’s promotional company Most Valuable Promotions.

During the same tournament, there will be a fight for the WBA and WBO championship belts in the cruiserweight division between Gilberto Ramirez and Yuniel Dorticos.
