Terence Crawford, one of the best boxers today, thinks there's one fighter better than him. The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, talked about who he thinks are the top boxers right now.
Crawford has won world titles in four different weight classes and was the undisputed champion at super-lightweight and welterweight. He's fought over 40 times as a pro and is known for being able to switch between orthodox and southpaw stances.
Now, Crawford's getting ready for a big fight against Canelo Alvarez. If he wins, he'll be the first man in boxing history to be undisputed champion in three different weight classes.
The Ring Magazine recently ranked Crawford as the third-best boxer in the world, pound-for-pound. Crawford didn't agree with this ranking.
"Usyk number one, he better be number one. Over Usyk? I'm not over Usyk,"
Crawford said, putting himself second on his own list. He thinks he's better than Naoya Inoue, though.
"I'm over Inoue,"
he added.
Oleksandr Usyk has been undisputed champion in two weight classes. He was the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era after beating Tyson Fury. Usyk gave up the IBF belt but will fight Daniel Dubois in July. If he wins, he could become undisputed champion again.
Naoya Inoue has also been undisputed champion in two weight classes - bantamweight and super-bantamweight. He just defended his 122lb title against Ramon Cardenas on May 4.
Crawford, Usyk, and Inoue are the only three boxers ever to be undisputed champions in two different weight classes. That's why they're all ranked so high in the pound-for-pound lists.
