Muratalla also received the status of official challenger for a fight with Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KO), who is the full champion of the International Boxing Federation in the weight category up to 61 kilograms. The Ukrainian is expected to clash with the American no later than October. Both boxers have contracts with the promotional organization Top Rank.
If by that time Lomachenko does not meet the requirements of the International Boxing Federation, he will lose his championship belt, and Muratalla will acquire the status of full champion. The Ukrainian last fought in May of last year.
