Kell Brook might step back into the ring after watching Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn's thrilling fight last month. The former welterweight world champion was at ringside for the big event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Eubank Jr and Benn put on a show their fathers would've been proud of. Benn moved up two weight divisions for the fight, while Eubank faced a tough rehydration clause. From the opening bell to the last, the action was non-stop. Eubank finished strong and won by unanimous decision.
Brook, who's been retired since stopping Amir Khan in February 2022, got fired up watching the fight. He's now saying he'd come out of retirement to face either man.
His old rival Amir Khan thinks it's a good idea. Khan told IFL TV:
"I said, 'listen, bro, this is where you have to call the winner out.' I said that to him straight up. One think about Kell is he's got great timing and he would give problems to either."
But Khan reckons there's one big factor that'll decide if Brook comes back:
"I think Brook should take that one if the money's right. At the end of the day, I know Brook. What's gonna really motivate him is the prize money. What's the prize for this fight. So, yeah, if the paycheque's good, I think he's gonna jump at that. Otherwise, I don't think it's gonna interest him because why take punches off a young lion when you don't need to?"
Brook's 39 now and hasn't fought since beating Khan inside six rounds. He retired a few months after that win.
A rematch between Eubank Jr and Benn is in the contract but hasn't been confirmed yet. We'll have to wait and see if Brook gets his shot at either of them.
