Usyk's prediction comes after Dubois stopped Joshua in five rounds last September. That fight marked Dubois' first IBF belt defense and stopped Joshua from becoming a three-time world champion.
Speaking to Mail Sport Boxing, Usyk explained why he thinks Joshua has the edge:
"I think if this fight, Joshua Dubois, happened today, I say again, [AJ wins]. Daniel Dubois is a very dangerous opponent. He's a world champion, a hard puncher. Both are great fighters. I think Joshua is a better boxer, skills, boxer, big champion. Last time Anthony lost, yes, Daniel Dubois beat him, but for me, I more like Anthony Joshua's style of boxing."
Usyk, a two-weight undisputed champion who has beaten Joshua twice, respects both fighters. He recognizes Dubois as a dangerous opponent and hard puncher. But he feels Joshua's boxing skills and style give him the advantage.
The upcoming Usyk-Dubois rematch follows their controversial first fight in August 2023. In that bout, the referee ruled a body shot that floored Usyk as low. Usyk went on to stop Dubois in the 9th round.
Tension is already building for the rematch. During their first face-to-face meeting, Dubois pushed Usyk in the chest. Usyk responded with a smile, which some interpret as a sign of weakness from Dubois.
As the July fight date approaches, fans will watch closely to see if Usyk's prediction about a potential Joshua-Dubois rematch proves accurate. For now, all eyes are on Wembley for the upcoming heavyweight showdown.
