Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are getting ready for a big fight later this year. The two champions will face off for Canelo's unified super middleweight titles in what's shaping up to be a massive event.

Canelo, the 34-year-old Mexican star from Guadalajara, will put his belts on the line against Crawford, the 37-year-old American known as "Bud" from Omaha, Nebraska. Crawford started his pro career in 2008 and wants to become a five-weight world champion with this fight.

The match almost didn't happen. Canelo was talking about fighting Jake Paul instead, but he changed his mind. Now, he's signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, and this bout with Crawford is part of that agreement.

Before facing Crawford, Canelo has another big fight coming up. He'll take on IBF super middleweight champion William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh. If Canelo wins, he'll become a two-time undisputed champion at 168 pounds. After that, he'll move on to the Crawford showdown.

Heavyweight legend Evander Holyfield thinks Canelo has the edge. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, the two-time undisputed champion said:

"It's gonna be hard to beat Canelo. He's real basic but a good fighter."

Even with Holyfield favoring Canelo, this fight promises to be a close one. Both fighters are at the top of their game, and fans can't wait to see them square off.

ESPN confirmed that Canelo will defend his titles against Crawford, setting the stage for one of the biggest boxing matches of the year. With Canelo's power and Crawford's skill, it's sure to be a fight to remember.
