Ryan Garcia doesn't think Terence Crawford can beat Canelo Alvarez in a potential super-middleweight bout. The young boxer shared his thoughts on this possible matchup during a recent interview.

Garcia, known as 'King Ry', believes Crawford won't have what it takes to overcome Canelo at 168 pounds. He pointed out Crawford's performance against Madrimov as a reason for his prediction.

"He cannot beat Canelo, nah, no way. I mean I don't see him beating Canelo. He didn't look that strong against Madrimov, to be honest, and Madrimov's not even big."

Garcia gave this opinion on Ring Champs with AK & Barak. He praised Canelo's mastery of his style and ring intelligence as key factors that would give him the edge over Crawford.

"The thing with Canelo is he's mastered his style, he ain't gotta change it up but he's mastered it and he understands what's going on in the ring at all times. I just don't see Terence beating him, I don't."

Canelo currently holds the WBC, WBA, and WBO super-middleweight titles. He'll fight William Scull on May 3 to try and become undisputed at 168 pounds. Crawford wants to move up two weight classes to challenge for a world title in a fifth division.

Garcia knows Canelo's team well. He trained with Eddy Reynoso from 2018 to 2021 and planned to reunite with him. Those plans are on hold because of Canelo's upcoming fight.

Garcia himself has a big fight coming up. He'll face Rolly Romero on May 2 in Times Square, New York.
