Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and his trainer Eddy Reynoso threw down a hefty challenge to influencer Paulo Chavira. The duo offered Chavira $1,000 for every kilogram he sheds, with a minimum target of 50 kilograms.
Chavira, one of Mexico's best-known sports betting tipsters, announced a lifestyle change for health reasons in mid-January. He planned to document his daily exercises, follow a diet, and create a video series featuring various personalities, including sports figures.
The challenge came to light in a video on Chavira's social media. Reynoso kicked things off, saying:
"What's more, fat man, I'm going to give you a thousand dollars for every kilo you lose. If you lose 50 kilos, the money is yours."
Canelo then stepped in to clarify the terms:
"I mean, look at what he's telling you. If you don't lose 50 kilos forget about the 50 thousand. He's going to give you a thousand dollars per kilo, but you have to lose at least 50 kilos. You don't even have those bets."
This challenge marks a potential turning point in Chavira's physical transformation journey. The influencer has shown high motivation, posting gym videos throughout the year.
Chavira's reputation goes beyond his weight loss journey. He's known for his expertise in sports betting, boasting a good success rate and great charisma.
While Canelo lays down this weighty challenge, he's also gearing up for his own big event. The boxing champ will face William Scull on Saturday, May 3, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 20,000-capacity venue will host what promises to be an action-packed night.
