After two failed attempts to win a world title after two consecutive knockout losses, Michael Conlan (19-3, 9 KOs) was seriously considering ending his career. However, as of late, he seems determined to give himself another chance.
The Irishman, a 2012 Olympic medalist, defeated Asad Asif Khan (19-6-1, 5 KOs) by eight rounds. The referee gave the win to Conlan by a score of 78-74. His next opponent will be reigning European featherweight champion Cristobal Llorente (20-0-1, 8 KOs). This meeting has already been confirmed, but the date and venue have yet to be announced.
In another interesting fight on the same night in Brighton, Harlem Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) knocked out Tyrone McKenna (24-6-1, 7 KOs) in the fifth and seventh rounds before winning by TKO in the tenth.
