Former world light heavyweight champion Mairis Briedis shared his thoughts on the draw in WBA lightweight division titleholder Gervonta Davis' WBA title fight against Lamont Roach.
Briedis believes Davis was gifted the draw because of his name.
"Promoters and judges realize that if there's no 'Tank' Davis, there won't be full stadiums. And that's not going to be money. Nobody knows the hardworking Roach. That's basically the only reason Davis got the draw. He would have lost that fight. As far as I watched, on points he was losing, even swam in the seventh-eighth round - there was a standing knockdown," - said Briedis on his YouTube channel.

Recall that on March 1, Davis and Roach drew a fight in the main event of an evening of boxing in Brooklyn.
