WBO featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs) will fight his next professional fight on May 10 at San Diego Boxing Night. The Mexican's potential opponents are Charlie Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) and Andres Cortez (22-0, 12 KOs).
Navarrete, 30, last boxed in December, winning his title in a meeting with Oscar Valdez. In that fight, the Mexican returned to the ring after a failed attempt to win the WBO championship belt in a heavier weight class, lightweight, losing to Denis Berinchik.
Suarez and Cortez have not previously had the opportunity to fight for a world title. Navarrete is planning a unification fight in the second half of the year.
