Teofimo Lopez, the WBO super-lightweight champion, has landed himself in hot water. The boxer posted a video that mocked a racist incident involving Keyshawn Davis, who's set to fight Denys Berinchyk for the WBO lightweight title in New York on Friday.

Davis got a nasty surprise in his hotel room - a box of bananas and watermelon. He pointed the finger at Berinchyk's team, but they strongly denied any involvement. The press conference that followed got heated, with the fighters needing to be pulled apart.

Lopez, known for stirring up drama outside the ring, decided to weigh in. He posted a video of himself laughing and eating a banana during the press conference, with the caption "making boxing great again."

Fans didn't take kindly to Lopez's stunt. One X user called it "disgraceful", while another labeled Lopez a "loser". Some even wondered if Lopez might have been behind the original incident.

This controversy comes at a time when Lopez's next move in the ring is up in the air. His March bout with Subriel Matias fell through, and now he's got a few options on the table.

He could go for a unification fight against IBF 140-pound champ Richardson Hitchins. Or he might have to defend his title against the winner of Jack Catterall vs Arnold Barboza Jr. There's also talk of him moving up to welterweight to take on IBF champ Jaron Ennis.

Whatever Lopez decides to do next, this latest controversy has certainly got people talking - though perhaps not in the way he'd hoped.
