The trainer of WBA regular middleweight titleholder David Morrell, Ronnie Shields, believes his charge will defeat WBC interim world champion David Benavidez early.
"Just because Morrell has had 11 fights doesn't mean he doesn't have long distance experience. That's what we work in the gym for. That's what we train every day for.
David Benavidez will feel Morrell's power when he gets close, and he'll feel it when David goes the distance. So in both aspects we have an advantage. I really believe Morrell will knock him out. I don't know when it's going to happen, and I don't really care. I just have a feeling that Morrell will knock him out," Shields said.
As a reminder, the Benavides vs. Morrell bout will take place on February 1 in Las Vegas.
