Terence Crawford thinks Mike Tyson would beat Tyson Fury in a dream match-up between the heavyweight boxers. The decorated American fighter shared his thoughts on this fantasy fight recently.
Crawford's got a lot of clout in the boxing world. He's cleaned out two divisions and grabbed world titles in three. He's been the undisputed champ at lightweight and welterweight. His big win over Errol Spence in 2023 put him on top of the welterweight division. Now he's got a world title at 154 lbs too.
When asked about the hypothetical fight on The Mayweather Channel, Crawford didn't hesitate to pick Iron Mike.
"Mike Tyson! Man, he gonna get up under that boy, hit him with that hook, overhand right, body shots, then here come that uppercut."
Crawford's pick might surprise some folks. Mike Tyson's been out of the ring for a long time. His last fight was against Jake Paul, and he lost on points to a guy less than half his age. Tyson's 58 now, but in his prime, he was something else. He knocked out his first 19 opponents inside six rounds and became the youngest ever heavyweight world champ at 20. That record still stands today.
Tyson Fury, on the other hand, said he's retiring at the start of January after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk. But lots of people hope he'll come back for a big showdown with Anthony Joshua.
All three of these fighters have been in the pound-for-pound talks at some point. Crawford's always in that conversation. Fury's been there throughout his career. And Mike Tyson was right up there at his peak.
It's fun to imagine how a fight between Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury would go down. But for now, we'll have to settle for Crawford's take on it.
