Tyson Fury And Usyk Agree On Heavyweight's Next Big Star: "He's Something Special"

Usyk currently stands at the top of the heavyweight mountain. At 37, he's unbeaten in 23 professional fights. The Ukrainian fighter cleaned out the cruiserweight division before moving up and beating everyone he's faced at heavyweight. Usyk's impressive record includes two wins each over Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, as well as victories against Derek Chisora and Daniel Dubois.

Fury, the former WBC champion, recently retired after suffering his only two losses to Usyk. Despite their rivalry, both fighters see eye to eye on Itauma's potential.

Fury didn't mince words when talking about the young prospect:

"Moses Itauma is the future of the heavyweight division 100%."

Frank Warren, Itauma's promoter, shared that Usyk and his manager Alex Krassyuk echoed this sentiment:

"This is the future of the heavyweight division"

Itauma's recent performances have turned heads in the boxing world. He stopped Mariusz Wach inside two rounds and knocked out Demsey McKean in the opening round last December.

The young boxer has set his sights on becoming the youngest-ever world champion. He's got a few months left to beat Mike Tyson's record. Itauma doesn't have a fight scheduled right now, but he's eyeing big names like Kubrat Pulev, Derek Chisora, and Filip Hrgovic for his next bout.

As the current crop of top heavyweights gets older, there's a chance for new talent to break through. Some fans hope Fury might come back for a fight with long-time British rival Anthony Joshua. But for now, all eyes are on Itauma as he aims to live up to the high expectations set by two of the greatest heavyweights of this era.
