Terence Crawford might fight Canelo Alvarez. The two boxing stars are talking about a big match that could happen soon.

Errol Spence Jr. thinks Crawford can do well against Canelo. Spence lost to Crawford last July in a big welterweight fight. Now, he's backing his former rival to do something special.

Spence told FightHub TV:

"It could happen, I mean why not? If Crawford wants to challenge himself to be great then let him try to be great you know, so I'm with it."

Crawford beat Spence to become the undisputed welterweight champion. He did the same thing at super lightweight six years earlier. Now, he wants to move up two weight classes to fight Canelo.

Spence believes in Crawford's skills:

"I'll be going for 'Bud' if he fights Canelo, I'll be going for him. I don't know if he's going to win or lose but I'll definitely be going for Crawford. I think if anybody can pull it off he can pull it off."

Canelo has moved up in weight before. He fought at 175 pounds against Kovalev and Bivol after starting at 147. Spence thinks Crawford can do the same:

"He's chasing greatness so why not? Canelo went up to 175 and fought Kovalev and fought the other guy [Bivol] too, so if he can do it, and he started at 147, so if he doing then why can't Crawford do it."

Turki Alalshikh is helping to set up the fight. He wants to make it happen in the next few months.

Crawford, who's 37 and from Omaha, wants to add to his success. Canelo, the unified super middleweight champion, is one of the best fighters in the world. If they fight, it will be a big deal in boxing.
