This comes after their first clash in August 2023, where Paul won by unanimous decision. The YouTuber-turned-boxer dropped Diaz in the fifth round of what was Diaz's boxing debut after more than 15 years in the UFC. For Paul, it was a bounce-back win following his first loss to Tommy Fury earlier that year.
Recently, Paul claimed Diaz turned down a $10 million offer for an MMA rematch. Diaz didn't take that lying down. He fired back on social media:
"Your full of sh*t I didn't ask for sh*t I'll fight u tomorrow [in] MMA. The problem is u suck and I don't work for pu**yFL dumba*s u do. Rematch is in boxing, trilogy is in MMA, u need time to train anyway, u suck."
Diaz made it clear: he's up for a boxing rematch now, but any MMA fight will have to wait.
Since their first meeting, both fighters have kept busy. Diaz scored a win over fellow UFC star Jorge Masvidal in the boxing ring. Paul has been on a tear, knocking out Mike Perry, Ryan Bourland, and Andre August. He also beat Mike Tyson in a controversial showdown last November.
Paul's next fight isn't expected until 2025, and he'll likely look for other opponents. But with Diaz laying down the gauntlet, fans might just get to see these two square off again sooner rather than later.
