The fight between Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) and Virgil Ortiz Jr. (22-0, 21 KOs), scheduled for February 22, will not take place. This was reported by American journalist Dan Rafael. The bout was supposed to be one of the main events of the evening of boxing, organized in Riyadh.

Negotiations have been scrapped and now Ortiz could cross gloves with WBC and WBO welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs), who was recently scheduled to fight Errol Spence Jr. at a tournament in Saudi Arabia.

Fundora won on points against Tim Tszyu in his last appearance. Ortiz, 26, made his official debut at the 69-pound weight class this year and defeated Sergey Bogachuk in August to win the interim WBC belt.
