Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to face off in a boxing match on Friday, November 15th. The fight will take place at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be the first live boxing event broadcast on Netflix.
The bout was originally planned for July but had to be postponed. Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up during a medical incident on a flight, forcing the delay.
At 58 years old, "Iron Mike" Tyson hasn't stepped into the professional ring for over two decades. His opponent, 27-year-old Jake Paul, boasts a 10-1 record and has been very active in the boxing scene over the past four years.
Despite the 31-year age gap and long absence from professional boxing, Tyson has shown he still packs a punch. Recent sparring footage captured him dropping a partner with a single shot and busting his trainer's lip.
In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Tyson shared his thoughts on Paul:
"He's a good little fighter. He's only had 10 fights, that's considered an amateur in our field. He'll be running around. I have to catch him and slaughter him."
Tyson didn't hold back when discussing his mindset for the fight:
"He's stepping into the ring. If my mother steps into the ring she has a problem with me. Whoever is in the ring has a problem. Don't go in the ring if you don't want that problem."
While Tyson's power remains formidable, Paul's recent opponents have attested to his own punching ability. The matchup between the seasoned legend and the YouTube sensation turned boxer has generated significant interest, with fans eager to see how the generational clash will play out in the ring.
