Malik Scott, the trainer of former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, has assured that his fighter plans to return to the ring next year.
"Fighting is part of who Deontay is. We have 2025 coming up, so we'll see how he feels, but I spoke to him last night and he's happy with his life. Deontay is recovering from certain physical issues that he had to take care of.
We suffered a setback in the fight with Zhang Zhilei, but life goes on. Wilder had to have certain surgeries and recover from them. We'll see what 2025 looks like. But fights are part of Deontay, so he'll fight again," Scott said in an interview with YouTube channel Seconds Out.
Recall that in June Wilder lost to Zhilei by technical knockout in the fifth round
