Fisher, who's undefeated in 12 professional fights with 11 knockouts, recently stopped Alen Babic in just 36 seconds. The young heavyweight unleashed a flurry of punches that overwhelmed his Polish opponent.
In a recent interview with Take A Seat, Fisher talked about his sparring experiences with top heavyweights:
"He's beaten Fillip Hrgovic who I was sparring in Texas, who's probably the most technically gifted fighter I've ever been in with."
Fisher praised Hrgovic's punch repertoire, shot placement, ability to read opponents, footwork, mental skill, and talent for breaking down opponents. The Croatian boxer, now 32, boasts an impressive amateur career with a gold medal at the 2015 European Amateur Championships and a bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Hrgovic turned pro and racked up 18 wins before suffering his first loss to Daniel Dubois, the current IBF champion. The fight ended when Hrgovic was stopped on cuts. He's yet to announce his return to the ring, but many believe he has more to offer in the heavyweight division.
Fisher's next fight is set for December 21 in Saudi Arabia. He'll face Dave Allen on the undercard of the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch. Allen, who's been competing at a lower level recently, has losses against Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, and David Price, but also boasts stoppage victories over Nick Webb and Lucas Browne.
The young heavyweight's career is on the rise. With only 31 total rounds in his professional career so far, Fisher is gaining valuable experience sparring with top contenders. His ability to learn from these sessions with fighters like Fury, Dubois, and Hrgovic will be crucial as he aims to climb the heavyweight ranks.
