Mike Tyson is stepping back into the ring at 57 years old. The former heavyweight champion will face Jake Paul, a 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, on November 15 at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The match has raised eyebrows in the boxing world. It'll be Tyson's first competitive fight since his retirement in 2005. The bout will feature 14-ounce gloves and consist of eight two-minute rounds. Netflix will stream the event live, marking a new venture for the platform into live sports broadcasting.
Lennox Lewis, who knocked out Tyson in their 2002 Memphis showdown, shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight with TMZ Sports. Lewis believes Tyson's chances hinge on his training camp and mobility.
"If his training camp went well, he should be able to take the fight. Tyson knows how to protect himself, throw body shots, and cut off the ring. His success will depend on how mobile he is."
Lewis noted Tyson's muscular appearance but expressed caution about his overall fitness.
"Tyson looks muscular and should be able to handle it if he's in good shape. But I hope his health is okay. We can't see internal issues from the outside, so I'm cautious about declaring him fully fit."
The former champion also hinted at a potential rematch with Tyson, likely as an exhibition. Lewis said he's open to the idea, depending on how Tyson performs against Paul.
"Let's see how he makes out in this fight and then I'll tell you after ... Yes [I would consider fighting him again]. Come on, baby. Let's have it."
The boxing world will watch closely as Tyson, once known as "The Baddest Man on the Planet," tests his skills against a much younger opponent. Paul has made a name for himself in boxing, but facing a legend like Tyson presents a new level of challenge.
