Teofimo Lopez wants to fight Terence Crawford, but Crawford's got a condition. The newly crowned four-division world champion says Lopez needs to beat Israil Madrimov first.
Crawford just won the WBA super-welterweight title. He beat Madrimov by unanimous decision in an impressive performance. Now, he's set his sights on Lopez.
"You fight and beat Israil Madrimov next, I'll whoop your ass next, bet? Now let's see how much you wanna fight."
Crawford said this after poking fun at Lopez's relationship with Top Rank. He called it a "f***ed up situation."
Lopez didn't let that slide. He fired back on social media:
"Terence Crawford you sued Top Rank for your reason. I am not burning the bridge. However, I am working it to my benefit. Say what you want. However, you were once in my position. Don't forget where you come from, old head! Eventually, we will fight! I'm not worried."
Lopez doesn't have a fight lined up right now. Crawford, on the other hand, is aiming big. He wants a bout with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. If that doesn't work out, he might have to talk about unifying titles with Sebastian Fundora.
Both fighters seem confident they'll meet in the ring someday. For now, it's just talk. We'll have to wait and see if Lopez takes up Crawford's challenge and faces Madrimov first.
