Tyson Fury Names His Most Challenging Opponent: "He Was A Different Animal"

None

Tyson Fury picked Deontay Wilder as his toughest opponent. The heavyweight champ shared his thoughts in a recent chat with Undisputed.

Fury's fought many big names in boxing. He beat Wladimir Klitschko and recently lost to Oleksandr Usyk. But it's Wilder who stands out as his biggest challenge.

"I'm going to have to say Wilder because when I fought Wilder he was in his prime, he was the man to be and he was a dynamite puncher and one mistake and it's over, in any round, round one or round 12, for sure," Fury explained.

Fury and Wilder met in the ring three times. Their first fight in 2018 ended in a draw. Fury got up from a late knockdown, shocking everyone. In the rematches, Fury changed his style and won both by stoppage.

The 'Gypsy King' remembered when he first met Wilder back in 2007 in Sheffield. They were both there for a big fight on Channel 5 and made a deal to face each other one day.

"I used to look at him and think wow, I'd see him hit people and legs would be shaking out cold on the floor. Terrifying knockouts."

Fury's admiration for Wilder's power and skills hasn't changed. He pointed out that Wilder was at the top of his game when they fought, making him a constant threat.

While Fury prepares for his rematch with Usyk in December for the undisputed world heavyweight title, Wilder's career has taken a downturn. He's lost his last two fights by stoppage to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.

Despite Wilder's recent struggles, Fury's respect for his old rival remains strong. Their battles will go down as some of the most memorable in heavyweight boxing history.
