Tyson Fury's Brother Reveals Surprising Take on Usyk Bout: "I've Changed My Mind"

Tyson Fury's team is gearing up for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in December 2023. The fight comes after Fury's first career loss to Usyk in May.

Shane Fury, Tyson's brother and key team member, shared some thoughts about the upcoming fight in an interview with iFL TV. He admitted they didn't use the right strategy in the first fight but believes they can turn things around.

"The good thing about it is it's a winnable fight for next time. Whether he will or not is two different things. Tyson fought the wrong fight, we fought the wrong fight, so he knows different now so we'll see. But I suppose it's much easier said than done to walk up to a man like that and get stuck into him isn't it? But if you train your mind it might be much easier to do it than trying to flick it on in the next round."

Shane described the previous fight as close, saying his opinion on the winner changes depending on when he watches it. He disagrees with Tyson's claim that he won easily on the night.

"Sometimes I watch it and think Usyk won, sometimes I watch it and think Tyson won and that is the truth of the matter. Anyone who sees different has an agenda behind them."

The rematch is set for December 21, 2023. Fury will try to become a three-time world champion and hand Usyk his first loss. Shane believes they've got a good shot at winning if they stick to their new game plan.

"He really fought the wrong fight. A week before the event, or two weeks, we all sat down and I explained what we needed to do. I do think Tyson's got the beating of him in the next fight."

If Fury wins, he'll have plenty of options. He could face Usyk in a trilogy fight, take on Daniel Dubois for the undisputed title, or finally clash with Anthony Joshua. But first, he needs to get past Usyk in December.
