Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are getting ready to face off in a big boxing match. The two will step into the ring on November 15 in Texas, and Netflix will broadcast the event.
Tyson, 58, is a former heavyweight champion known for his explosive punches. He's the youngest boxer ever to win the heavyweight title. Paul, on the other hand, is 30 years younger than Tyson.
The fight will last eight rounds, with each round lasting two minutes. It's been a bumpy road to get here. The match got pushed back because of some health issues Tyson had. A lot of people aren't happy about the fight. They think it's dangerous because of how long Tyson's been out of the ring and the big age gap between the two fighters.
Tyson doesn't seem worried, though. He's been posting videos of himself training, looking strong and fast.
Teddy Atlas, who used to coach Tyson in his early days and now works as an analyst, shared his thoughts on the fight. He said it's not surprising Tyson looks good in training videos.
"It's one thing to hit someone when ain't no one hitting back."
Atlas pointed out that hitting pads is very different from a real fight. He said even top athletes can look great in controlled settings. While Tyson's power is still there, Atlas thinks his reflexes, speed, and timing might not be what they used to be.
When it comes to how the fight might go, Atlas thinks the first couple of rounds could be tough for Paul.
"If it's legitimate, if it's not pre-arranged, yeah the first couple minutes could be a little risky for Paul against a guy who was the youngest heavyweight champ and a guy with one of the greatest combinations of speed and power in the history of the heavyweight division. For one or two rounds, could it be a little hairy? Yeah."
But if Paul can survive those early rounds, his youth might give him an edge. Atlas thinks Tyson might run out of steam pretty quickly.
This fight marks Tyson's return to boxing this year. A lot of people in the sport aren't happy about it. They've been speaking out against the match.
