Dubois looked sharper, faster, and more aggressive throughout the fight. Joshua didn't perform as well as expected. The outcome surprised many fans and experts.
Derek Chisora, a fellow boxer, shared his thoughts on the fight. He said Joshua didn't seem himself from the start.
There's no two ways about it, he froze. Look at the fight. He was chucking like he didn't want to hit Daniel. He froze from the moment the bell went. I think he froze from the moment he walked out his dressing room … Mate, he came out, walked in the ring and he stood in one position. He didn't feel the canvas around the ring, walk around, things like that. Things he normally does he didn't do. He came in and went in one corner, that was it. You have to look at people's way, how they do stuff.
Chisora noticed that Joshua didn't follow his usual pre-fight routine in the ring. He didn't move around or feel the canvas like he normally does.
Despite the loss, Chisora believes Joshua can win a rematch. He said:
The best thing is the rematch … I believe he wins in the rematch. He has to change his ways. He wins in the rematch. He'll go back and look at it and say this is what I did wrong, this is what I'm gonna fix and he'll fix it. That is it. It's just one of those things.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, said a rematch is possible. He thinks Joshua will want to fight Dubois again because of his competitive nature.
Dubois, now 27 and the new IBF champion, has shown interest in a rematch too. He feels confident he can do even better in a second fight.
The boxing world will watch closely to see what happens next for both fighters.
