Renowned Trainer Robert Garcia Sees Trouble Ahead for Canelo: "He's Not Ready"

Terence Crawford and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez might face each other in the ring soon. Boxing fans are talking about this fight even though the two champions compete in different weight classes.

Canelo has fought as high as light-heavyweight and currently holds all the super middleweight titles. He just defended those belts against Edgar Berlanga. Crawford, on the other hand, has been moving up in weight. He started as an undisputed lightweight champion, then became the undisputed welterweight king last July. Recently, Crawford won a title at 154 lbs by beating Israil Madrimov.

Robert Garcia, who trains top fighters like Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez and Vergil Ortiz, thinks Canelo will win if the fight happens. He said:

"Terence is strong physically and mentally and you need that, so he does put up some rounds. I don't think he will win cause it will be tough for him. Canelo's power, strength in the late rounds, that's where Crawford starts getting into trouble."

Garcia believes Crawford will do well early on but Canelo's size and power will take over later in the fight. The trainer got it wrong about Canelo's last fight, though. He thought Canelo would knock out Berlanga, but that didn't happen.

"It was a great fight I think they both put in a great fight. I thought, like everyone else, that Canelo was going to knock him out, but Berlanga came in ready to fight. He got knocked down pretty good but got up like nothing and fought really well. It was a good fight."

While fans talk about Crawford vs Canelo, many also want to see Canelo fight David Benavidez. Benavidez is a former world champion, but there are no plans for that fight right now.

Crawford knows Canelo's size will be a challenge. But he's used to fighting bigger opponents and feels confident. Canelo hasn't stopped anyone in his last five fights, which might give Crawford hope.

The boxing world waits to see if this big fight will happen. Both fighters have proven they're among the best, but their size difference makes it an interesting match-up.
