Inoue gets an early win over Doheny (video)

At the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, an evening of boxing has come to an end, the main event of which was the fight of the absolute world champion in the second lightweight division Naoya Inoue against TJ Doheny.

The opponents started shooting jabs at each other. Inoue took the center of the ring, punching Doheny's body several times. The challenger was primarily thinking about defense, while not allowing Inoue to clearly dominate.

In the third round, Doheny began to work in series, delivering several body punches. Inoue increased the pace in the fifth round. Doheny didn't falter, however, and continued to stumble. Despite Inoue's advantage, the challenger troubled him with crosses and straight lefts.

In the next round, Inoue finally took the initiative. The Japanese started throwing multi-strike combinations. However, Doheny was holding up well, but the fight ended abruptly at the start of the seventh round. TJ injured his back and was unable to continue the fight.
