Former Champion Reveals Surprising Pick for Canelo-Crawford Showdown: "Definitely"

None

Terence Crawford keeps pushing for a fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, even though there's a big weight difference between them.

Crawford, who just started fighting at 154 pounds, wants to move up two more weight classes to face Canelo. He's trying to add to his already impressive boxing career. Canelo, who rules the 168-pound division, hasn't completely ruled out the fight. But he's worried he won't get credit for beating a smaller opponent.

Regis Prograis shared his thoughts on this potential matchup in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans. He said:

"I definitely want to see it for sure but I don't think he can win. I definitely don't think he can win. I tell Crawford all the time I just don't think… They make weight classes for a reason. This last dude he fought was hitting him stuff and that dude was a 54 pounder, so I feel like that might be the ceiling for Terence Crawford."

Prograis wants to see the fight happen, but he doesn't think Crawford can win. He pointed out that weight classes exist for a reason. Prograis noticed that Crawford got hit by his last opponent, who was a 154-pounder. This made him think that 154 pounds might be as high as Crawford should go.

Crawford's known for being a really skilled boxer. But Canelo's not just a big puncher – he's skilled too. That's why Prograis can't see Crawford beating Canelo. In fact, he doesn't think the fight will happen at all.

Right now, Crawford's been told to fight Sebastian Fundora, who holds the WBO and WBC Super-Welterweight titles. Some people think Crawford might retire if he can't get the Canelo fight.

As for Canelo, he's got a fight coming up on September 14 against Edgar Berlanga. So, any talk about a Crawford fight will have to wait until after that.
