Undefeated American boxer David Benavides explained why his bout with the absolute champion in the second middle division Mexican Saul Alvarez has not yet been organized.
"The WBC made me a mandatory challenger, but they still haven't taken the last and most important step - they haven't scheduled the fight. Why? Because Alvarez is like a cash cow for everyone. And WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO exist only thanks to percentages from fighters' fees. And they take 3% off Canelo. That's why Saul is allowed to do whatever he wants, and he chooses easier opponents," said Benavides in the podcast Million Dollaz Worth of Game.
Recall that on June 15 in Las Vegas, Benavides will fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk. At stake will be the temporary WBC light heavyweight title.
