Edwin De Los Santos has re-signed with Sampson Boxing

Sampson Lewkowicz's Sampson Boxing has officially renewed its long-term promotional contract with Dominican lightweight contender Edwin 'La Granada' De Los Santos. The signing took place on May 8, 2024, securing the continuing partnership between the well-known promoter and the 24-year-old fighter from Santo Domingo.

Edwin De Los Santos, who holds a professional record of 16-2 with 14 KOs, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal. He stated, "I am happy to have re-signed with my promoter Sampson. He has done everything he said he would do for my career, and we have grown to be like family. I look forward to another world title fight soon." This comes after a competitive contest against Shakur Stevenson last November.

Sampson Lewkowicz also shared his enthusiasm about continuing the partnership with De Los Santos. He remarked, "Edwin De Los Santos is a terrific talent and a good man. He has never backed down from any fight I have offered him, and he has the talent to become a dominant champion." Lewkowicz anticipates more significant fights and achievements in De Los Santos' future.

Humberto 'Chelo' Betancourt, who manages and trains De Los Santos and has worked with Sampson for over two decades, praised both the renewal decision and De Los Santos' capabilities. Betancourt commented, "I have worked with Sampson for over 20 years, and he’s always kept his word. Edwin is an excellent fighter who works hard in the gym, and he will be the lightweight champion of the world very soon."
