Wilder agreed a deal to fight Anderson in August

Deontay Wilder, a former WBC champion, is scheduled to fight the formidable Zhilei Zhang in just four weeks, as he seeks to move past a recent defeat. Despite the looming clash, Wilder has committed to another significant bout with top-ranked contender Jared Anderson on August 3rd, provided he is fit after his June fight.

Wilder faced a tough loss against Joseph Parker in December, a match where he was notably outperformed. Shortly afterward, Zhilei Zhang also fell to Parker, positioning Parker as a renewed heavyweight threat.

The upcoming battle between Wilder and Zhang will take place under the Matchroom vs. Queensberry promotion on June 1st.

Turki Al-Alshikh announced on social media that assuming Wilder recovers in time from his fight with Zhang, he will face Jared Anderson in Los Angeles at the Riyadh Season card. Al-Alshikh stated, "The talented Jared Anderson is with us now on August 3rd Riyadh Season card at LA against the 'Bronze Bomber' Deontay Wilder – if he’s ready by then to fight after 1st of June’s fight against Zhilei Zhang."

The Riyadh Season card featuring Wilder’s potential fight also includes other significant matches such as Terence Crawford facing Israil Madrimov. Notable appearances include Isaac Cruz defending his WBA super-lightweight title and Andy Ruiz Jr returning from a two-year hiatus to fight Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller.
