Top Armenian lightweight Arman Tsarukyan commented on the difficult first round of his fight with former Brazilian champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 in Las Vegas.
Recall, Tsarukyan won by split decision of the judges, but was close to defeat with a choke prelim at the beginning of the fight.
"It was a very tight choke. But I knew I was going to get out of it and win the fight. Because I believed in myself, I knew I couldn't tap and give up. I've worked so hard - how can I give up now? I had a lot of thoughts in my head, but I knew how to get out of this position. And I did. But the choke was very tough," Tsarukyan told ESPN MMA.
