Saul Alvarez in one of his last interviews he spoke about a possible fight against David Benavidez. “At this moment I am the king and I can do whatever I want,” said the undisputed super middleweight champion.

Canelo also responded to the claim that he was allegedly avoiding facing Benavidez: “Yeah, that’s what they always say - Erislandy Lara, Austin Trout, Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Gennady Golovkin, Daniel Jacobs, Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders. In the end, I defeated almost all of them. If I beat Benavidez, they’ll say again: ‘Oh, why don’t you fight another guy?’ Look at my track record, I’ve done everything in boxing.”

Alvarez also said he plans to meet with Al Haymon on Monday to plan his next fight in May. When asked if David Benavidez is a possibility for September, Canelo responded with the following: “We’ll see. I am always determined to put on the best fights. Will this be a good fight in September or will he have to wait a little longer, we'll see. Sometimes confrontations become bigger if you wait a little.”
