Aspinall calls on the UFC to strip Jones of his championship belt

Tom Aspinall, interim UFC heavyweight champion, believes the promotion should strip him of his championship belt Jon Jones, who was out for a long period due to injury.

“I think Jones should be stripped of the title. I must be a true champion now. Who even wants to see Jones fight Stipe? Are they going to have a legacy fight, a farewell match, with the title on the line? Is not. I can fight Stipe and Jones. The UFC should stop defending Jones. Injured — get out of the way, I’ll fight Miocic,” Aspinall said.
